Padi Open Water course - eLearning

The eLearning process comprises of a multimedia format to compensate for the different ways in which we each learn. If you prefer audio commentary it will take approximately 3.5 hours to listen to all the sections. Each section also has a text display, so that it is possible to complete the sections faster if you respond well to on screen text . There are also video clips to demonstrate practical skills

Realistically you will need a broadband connection to get the best out of the eLearning program. You can stop the sections at any point and continue at a later date. Combined with the automated exam marking, the eLearning process gives you a truly flexible study approach that can be completed at times to suit you.

Audio commentary times
Introduction 16 minutes
Module 1 42 minutes
Module 2 43 minutes
Module 3 52 minutes
Module 4 35 minutes
Module 5 31 minutes
Total 214 minutes/3.5 hours

Allow extra time to watch the video clips, review any sections you don’t understand, and complete the quizzes/exams. On average Open Water eLearning students take around 50% extra time to complete the whole course.

You will continue to have access to the Open Water eLearning program so that you can review the knowledge in the future, should you wish to refresh your memory.

You do not need to take the Open Water course with Timuna Sea. You can complete the remaining parts (Confined Water dives and Open Water dives) with any PADI Dive Centre. If you would like to take the the Confined Water dives with Timuna Sea to save time on holiday, see the Open Water course page for more information or the calendar for suitable dates for your course.
